1. One new thing I learned during the discussion:
I totally missed the grandma/grandparent comparison, and really enjoyed Enlly's point on how people visit grandparents less, and they are in solitude more often.
2. Something I wished we had talked about:
I enjoyed the boxcar children comparison, and I wish we had spent more time on that topic.
3. Something I wish I had said:
I wanted to talk about the comparison of the Box Man to Thoreau a little bit more, possibly even looking on his trancendentalist ideals.
I thought I posted this in class, turns out I only saved it as a draft, even though I was finished.
ReplyDeleteIt says you posted it at 9:58, which was in class. I agree with you that I wish we had talked more about the boxcar children, I read those books as a child and think we could have enjoyed ourselves discussing the comparisons between the Box Man and the Boxcar Children in more detail. I myself didn't really make the connection between the Box Man and Thoreau so I also would have liked to talk about those comparisons.
